During the 20th anniversary of its presence on the market, OVH decided to change its name to OVHcloud, which reflects its strategy of business development and international expansion. The company focuses on cloud solutions. Poland is to be a hub for development in the Central European region.
70% of revenues from cloud computing
During the recently completed OVHCloud Summit, the company repeatedly emphasized that it focuses on cloud solutions, which currently account for 70% of its revenues.
“OVH entered the market 20 years ago with the start of virtualization of services – PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, etc. – and the company is now a leading provider of cloud services. Today, we use the term ‘cloud’ to refer to these services. We want our brand to reflect what we do. – said Michel Paulin, CEO of OVHcloud. “We are changing the name, but our values remain the same: openness and building an ecosystem that guarantees data protection. OVHcloud continues to promote its vision of a SMART cloud: Simple. Multi-local. Accessible. Reversible and Transparent. That is, a simple, multilocal, accessible, reversible and transparent cloud.
4 main areas of development
OVHcloud implements the strategy in all four areas of activity. The first one is Enterprise solutions – support for IT specialists in the process of digital transformation of enterprises. This year’s bare metal servers offer will be enriched with dedicated server clusters with guaranteed performance combined in a private network.
The second area is the development of an open and standard Public Cloud environment for DevOps engineers who need solutions to develop scalable cloud applications.
Another area is the offer for infrastructure, hardware and network specialists who want to build cloud platforms based on server solutions. This year, OVHcloud completely modified its offer of dedicated servers, putting simplicity and universality of solutions first. OVHcloud recently introduced a new range of dedicated Infrastructure servers to the market, which enables the creation of cluster architecture or management of distributed databases. The offer is addressed to medium-sized companies, public administration institutions or universities in need of scalable and efficient solutions. All servers in the Infrastructure range are equipped with the latest technology OVHcloud Link Aggregation (OLA), which is used to aggregate network interfaces of servers.
The last area of development of OVHcloud services is aimed at increasing visibility and better communication for business through Market solutions. These solutions support the evolution of digital creators and small businesses. This year’s Cloud Web hosting offer will be enriched with new configurations opening the door to new applications. Additional resources will accelerate the development of websites or web applications.
This year’s edition of OVHcloud Summit in Paris was attended by participants co-creating the OVHcloud ecosystem. Nearly 10,000 people gathered at Paris Expo – or following a live broadcast of the event – listened to the opening speech given by Octave Klaba, president and founder and Michel Paulin, CEO of OVHcloud.
Poland: development hub in CEE
Poland is to play an important role in the development of the company in Europe. “It is an important market for the company, not only because of the Polish roots of its founders, but also because of the rich opportunities for business development,” OVHcloud representatives emphasize. According to the Group’s development strategy, Poland is to become a starting point for OVHcloud to scale up its business in the entire region of Central and Eastern Europe.
