The third part of the series about the witcher ensured the studio’s success and publicity in the world. The year 2015, in which the Witcher 3 had its premiere, was exceptionally profitable for the company. Now everyone is waiting for their new project.

Four years after the premiere of The Witcher game, the company still makes money on it

The beginning of the year was less profitable for CD Projekt than a year ago. In the first three months, the company generated PLN 81 million of sales revenue, generating a net profit of PLN 17.8 million. Compared to the previous year, we can observe an increase in sales and a decrease in profit. In the corresponding period of 2018, revenues amounted to PLN 75.4 million and net profit to PLN 22.9 million.

What generates the most of revenue in CD Projekt?

The Company announces that their revenues to a large extent still result from the continued good sales of the latest part of The Witcher, including its extensions “Blood and Wine” and “Hearts of Stone”. Two other studio games based on the Witcher’s franchise – “Gwent” and “Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales” – also had their share. They did not achieve a dizzying, long-term success, but despite that they reached a large number of fans of the Witcher’s universe as well as card games. The good sales results of the platform also have a positive impact on the company’s financial condition.

The future of the company

For many years the company has been focusing on its most important title – Cyberpunk 2077. In the first quarter of this year, PLN 25 million was allocated for development, which resulted in an accumulated balance of expenditure on development work of PLN 264 million. A team consisting of over 400 people is working on the title.

Adam Kiciński, CEO of CD Projekt, announces that in the near future the company will take part in the E3 exhibition – the biggest exhibition in the history of the studio so far. He also added that the company wants their presence in Los Angeles to be even more visible than last year.

The company announces that it has planned a dedicated communication and meeting space for media, business partners, stock market investors – as well as players – for the upcoming Los Angeles event. The studio will also showcase their upcoming work for the first time in the public space of the E3 exhibition.
